Charger Controllers

The charge controller regulates the voltage and current that is coming from the solar panels. Most "12 volt" panels actually put out about 16 to 20 volts, so a charge controller is needed to protect your batteries. If there is no regulation, the batteries will be damaged by overcharging.

In off grid systems (not having electric metering) batteries are an essential part of the system. By holding the power in batteries, you benefit from your system day and night. We sell and use AGM deep cell batteries that typically last 10 years if installed properly. Each battery weights about 140 pounds and the average system uses 10- 12 volt batteries. Batteries can also be used for recreation vehicles, barns, out buildings, camping, and many more uses from large to small.
